Praise for Shades of Darkness
With the situation that Olivia and Liam are in at the end of this story, makes you think of all the things that can happen in book 3. But since I have so many different thoughts in my head, I am sure Melynda Price will come up with something better than I could ever imagine.
What a wonderful book, would recommend it to everyone.
A fascinating blend of theology and mysticism, love and betrayal, Price takes us into the minds and hearts of the characters in a deft way. Although some of the prose and dialogue tends toward the stilted, the reader is nonetheless made to care, and care deeply, about the fate of the protagonists.
A surprise ending, though, lifts this tale above the mundane mortal meets angel story. Language and scenes of violence make it a book not for the squeamish.

You can feel the love that Olivia and Liam have for one another and you feel helpless for them as well. The different POV’s through out the book was a plus for me as well.I can’t wait until #3 comes out. After reading book 1 Until Darkness Comes I was itching to get my hands on Shades of Darkness…and I’m glad I did! This series keeps you guessing what is going to happen from the beginning until the end. I’ve never been into books with Angel’s and I have to say that this series has changed my mind.

Five stars ‘cuz this book grabbed me from the start. It was a great trasition from the 1st book into 2nd. Iwondered what could possibly be the next challenge—-very good story Melynda. Kind of surprise ending, will be hard to wait until the 3rd book comes out. The writing gives me a visual, like I am there. My daughter is hooked on series also. Keep ’em coming.

After much anticipation, I finally got a copy! And I was NOT disappointed. Sometimes sequels are not as good as the original story. This was NOT the case for this book. It was every bit as good, maybe even better than the first one. I am hooked. And I anxiously await more from this author!!
Great reading for volume number two of a series. Looking forward for more exciting books, with a different way of looking at living in this world.
WOW! That’s how I would describe Price’s second book in her “Redemption” series, “Shades of Darkness.” I digested every word from the first to the last, and I could hardly put the book down. Price has turned out to be an excellent author. I have read thousands of books by almost as many authors, and Price rates right up there at the top. I usually don’t read science fiction or paranormal themed books, but Price’s two books have been wonderful, and a new reading experience for me. I only have one regret, and that is I didn’t re-read the first volume. I can hardly wait until her third book comes out in 2014.
