4/29/12 Six Sentence Sunday

Hi everyone! I’m continuing my Bonded in Exile excerpt this week. Hope you’re enjoying it 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments!

Silas glanced back over his shoulder, giving Emily an amused grin. “The medical kit is for you; the needle and thread is for me.” Grabbing the sewing kit out of the closet, he filled a pan with water, and grabbed a washcloth from the drawer. He carried the familiar white-crossed box, and her mother’s sewing kit, over to the bed. Sitting down beside her, he wordlessly washed the bottom of her foot and opened the first-aid kit, pulling out some gauze, antibiotic ointment, and bandage tape. His hands were gentle and sure as he silently dressed the cut on her heel; all the while, the heady scent of cloves saturated the air, growing stronger by the second–he was losing a lot of blood–fast.
