3/5/12 Six Sentence Sunday

I’m continuing this week with my excerpt from Bonded in Exile. Thanks for reading and leaving your comments 🙂 Have a great Sunday!

Emily resisted the impulse to wrap her arms around Silas’s neck for support. Even with a limp, his movements were fluid and graceful as he carried her to the bed.

“Are you alright?” he asked, his eyes raked over her, carefully doing a damage assessment—too bad he couldn’t see her broken heart.

“Son of a bitch,” he growled, reaching up brush his fingers over her neck.

Tears stung her eyes and she jerked back from his touch. Her neck hurt like hell from Riley’s punishing grip, and the last thing she wanted right now was Silas’s feigned concern.

Riley’s a bastard. I doubt Silas’ concern is fake. Terrific six – great emotion and intensity.
