Six Sentence Sunday

Merry Christmas everyone! I’m continuing my excerpt between Emily and Riley from my novel Bonded in Exile. Glad you’re enjoying it 🙂

The grip on Emily’s throat tighened and everything mercifully faded to black. Suddenly, the front door slammed open, an awareness echoed somewhere in her mind. The thundering pulse in her ears rendered her nearly deaf to the vicious roar filling the cabin. Abruptly, the grip on her throat released, and she dropped to her knees, sucking in giant gulps of air; her throat burned with fire as she dropped down on all fours, her palm pressed to the floor for balance. Seconds passed, maybe minutes as she knelt  there, waiting for her head to clear; her vision to return. All around her feral snarls reverberated through the cabin–Silas…

  9. There’s a lot of good detail here, but I’m not quite sure what it adds up to. I was wondering if the air was literally being sucked out of the room, but that depends on what kind of story it is. Thanks for sharing, though!

I missed the list deadline for this week, but I did get six sentences up! http://kelworthfiles.wordpress.com/2011/12/18/six-sentence-sunday-more-from-children/
